Question by iggy rocks: A few questions about Bali?
Hello,
My husband and I are planning a trip to Bali(we are from Australia).
My husband wants to surf…preferably left hand break, and I want a to relax in a nice resort with spa treatments! we have a 14 month old and he will be 18-19months old when we go, so we need a place that is Child friendly and has some sort of babysitting?
We don’t want to stay in Kuta, but I do want to have a look around the markets there!
Any suggestions on where a great place to stay would be?
Thanks in advance!!!

Hi, glad to hear that you’ll go to Indonesia
If you don’t want to stay in Kuta, then i think you should stay in Nusa Dua. It has a compounds of many good hotels there. Beside, Nusa Dua is quite near to Dreamland Beach (Uluwatu). That’s the best beach to surf in Bali. And if you wanna go to traditional market, you can have a walk outside the hotel compound and find a traditional market (Nusa Dua area), or if you wanna go to the bigger traditional market, then you can try to go to Pasar Sukawati (‘Pasar’ means ‘market’).

Nusa Dua is located near to Benoa, where you can do many kind of water sports, such as: jetski, parasailing, banana boat, flying fox. Or you can take a boat and go to Pulau Penyu to have a look for turtles, snakes, and bats.
Just for another idea, if you prefer to stay in a more expensive hotel, maybe you can try to stay in Ritz Carlton Bali. It’s located in Uluwatu area, but has hot really much places to visit there. All you can do to look around is only take a rent-car or motorbike.
I’ve read some other from Yahoo answerer talking about Ubud. Yes, there’s quite a good place to visit. The atmosphere there is really friendly & warm.. so cool…!
Well, maybe you can contact me by email if you need more assistance/help.

Yeah Kuta is kinda crowded these days and not that kids-friendly. I have a few areas and suggested hotels for you:
- Seminyak. 15 minutes away from Kuta with a lot of beachfront hotels. One of the best hotel there would be the Legian, your child will be able to play in the beach while you are swimming in the pool, that’s how close the pool and the beach are.
- Benoa. This area also has its own beach. Check out Conrad, very kids friendly hotel with a lot of activities for children. Very popular with families with young kids.
- Jimbaran. Again, beachfront area. Check out the Intercontinental, there’s even a club for kids and a playground area for kids.
- Nusa Dua. Plenty of hotels here, Hyatt, Nikko among others.
All of these hotels have spa services, but the best spa would probably be at the Ritz Carlton. The hotel is kids friendly but it’s on top of the cliff so your husband might need some travellin to do his surfin
if you want to chill out and relax, I suggest you to stay in lovina beach..
it located in the north side of Bali, and it;s so quiet..there’s no young tourist and no nite life, you could see the dolphins and also go snorkeling.
